Holmes 220

The Holmes 220 Wrecker used the 440 mast and boom and a Ramsey 8000lb electric winch in place of the 440 mechanical drive unit. This made it an excellent unit for automatic transmission trucks. Primary target was dealership and service stations that did not require recovery capability. In early units the extending boom was optional: by 1980 the X1 boom was standard. Bodies were available for single and dual wheel trucks and many were installed in pick up boxes. First unit was shipped in September 1967 and they were available up into the late 80’s. Estimated production is about 4000 units.
